FIA TO LAUNCH COUNTRY WIDE CRACK DOWN AGAINST ILLEGAL HOUSING SOCIETIES

Fedral Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Bashir Memon has ordered to launch an inquiry against illegal housing schemes across the country. a news source reported.

FIA zones operating across the country will lodge criminal cases against schemes,which are being alleged of malpractices. The DG FIA has been directed to complete the operation with in three months of time.

FIA previously prepared a list of housing societies operating across the country in january. It also submitted a forensic audit report of the said societies to the honorable Supreme Court.

According to the forensic report, at least 6072 housing societies established across the country have been found illegal or involved in malpractices. The number of registered housing societies across the country stood at 3053.

Out of those, at least 667 were cooperative housing schemes.Whereas the number of societies which had applied for registration was 1716.
